I get a little choked up each time I read this story.
Officer Kimberly Munley almost single-handedly took down Nidal Hasan at the Fort Hood readiness center. She was directing traffic, and by happenstance was the first responder to this killer of 13 soldiers (by the way, sign the petition for the death penalty for this guy).
She shot him four times, and apparently continued fire after taking a hit in her legs.
Awesome. Heroes live among us every day. Don't ever forget it.
The next time you hear a story about a bad cop, remember that cops are the ones running toward the trouble while the rest of us are running away. That goes for firefighters, too.
